SSSSSSeduction.

               Ooooh La La.

Title get your attention?  Sicko.  Last night we had Ommegang (which is apparently a member of the Duvel family) Seduction.  I saw something interesting on BeerAdvocate the other day that reminded me of a S.O.A.P. note (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan, a daily progress note written in hospitals): the ASTMO Rating Style (Appearance, Smell, Taste, Mouthfeel, Overall).

The beer is dark, the website  doesn't report the degrees Lovibond (of which I am quite fond, how poetic), but let's put it this way: do you see any light shining through? No.  Not quite as diesel as the Yeti (see previous post), but pretty dark.  It has a very thick head, even when you pour relatively slowly.  It has a honey smell (but I am wondering if I need to expand my scent horizons as most beers I have tasted lately seem to have honey on the nose).  It's decent.  Tastes like bitter sweet cocoa, there's something tangy like figs or tobacco.  Reviewers say cherries, which I picked up at the end.  No bitterness at all, somewhat of a thin finish, light bodied (for a Porter-style).  I prefer my Porters/Stouts a bit more full bodied.

Overall?
COR: 20%
CNN: 25

Other:
ABV: 6.8%
IBU: 26
Malty: Pils, Caramel, Chocolate, Munich, others...
Hops: Perle
