Sour Be-Er

Beer Brother A graced us with his presence this evening, and we sipped on Lindemans Gueuze Cuvée René.  It has clear golden orange color, a white foamy head, a pungent lemony nose, and tastes like it was made with lemon juice - the kind that comes in a plastic lemon:

It's tangy, but doesn't have the fresh zestiness of a fresh cut/squeezed lemon.  But guess what?  It's NOT made from lemons. It's yet another beer brewed with Brettanomyces.  Amazing little buggers.  It's slightly dry, tart, and the flavor seems deeper as it warms (suspect I may have served too chilled, although the website recommends 2-3 degrees Celcius!).  I thought this beer was interesting, unique, fascinating from a gustatory perspective, but it's not a beer I would seek out again.  I think it would probably go well with fish, or tacos, not the greasy slow cooked pork verde I made for dinner last night.
