Allagash Black: brewed with 2 Row barley, torrified wheat, oats, both roasted and
chocolate malt and dark caramelized sugar. The appearance is a dark strong coffee brown, with a thin, tan head. It has a strangely sweet aroma, when you breathe in through both your nose and your mouth, it's like cotton candy. It has moderate carbonation; it's inoffensive, not terribly complex. You can taste the Allahash proprietary yeast, that is, it tastes like Allagash White, but with coffee, mild chocolate, and malty tones. There is very little (if any) bitterness. Although I did enjoy, it wasn't anything terribly special.
